ONE: “Sure, China has lower labor costs, but is your product engineered to maximize these saving?”
Most cost factors such as components, materials, manufacturing processes and assembly labor are locked in very early in the design process. Once the product architecture and aesthetics are frozen, then the quoting process and eventually production can take place. A Design or Engineering disconnect (with manufacturing) at the critical initial design stage will have a negative impact on every aspect of the project, raising cost and potentially delaying delivery.
