3D TV at Shenzhen Airport

While waiting for security check at Shenzhen Airport I noticed the 3D TV’s from TCL hanging above the queue, playing 3D cartoons. TCL is a Shenzhen based TV design and manufacturing company.

It’s interesting to see how intense competition drives aggressive development. Big brands thrive on market share, huge R&D budgets and manufacturing facilities, other brands compete by differentiation.

TCL, according to their news flash, is the first company to commercialize 3D TV

I saw the same display. I’ve been at the forefront of technology development for the past 30 years and I have to say I’ve never seen anything this impressive.

The only problem – and I think this is true of all 3D stuff – after watching for about 20 minutes (yes the lines at Shenzhen can be that long) I experienced quite a bit of eye fatigue and some disorientation.

But as far as 3D TV development goes, I say Go For It TCL. This is truly impressive.
